Accounting Clerk
Summary of Position:
This accounting clerk supports accounting operations by filing documents, reconciling statements, running software programs, and other proprietary duties. This accounting role will be part several aspects of the full accounting life cycle including processing checks, QuickBooks entries and using customer-based accounting software. Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains accounting records by making copies; filing documents
  • Prepare, process and reconciles customer statements
  • Maintains accounting databases by entering data into the computer; processing backups
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Perform basic bookkeeping, filing, and clerical duties
  • Assist in other duties proprietary to accounting department
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment
  • Maintain professionalism in the work place
  • Displays flexibility and ability to realign job duties with changing priorities
  • Works well with others to complete multiple department deadlines
  • Ability to learn new tasks proficiently and quickly
  • Knowledge of accounting for large number of locations within GL account framework
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Solid computer skills such as typing and navigation through various computer programs including MS Outlook, Excel, and Windows
  • Type more than 50 WPM and 10-key by sight
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Compassionate and patient customer service skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Sitting at desk – 90% daily
  • Standing or walking – 10% daily (may require more infrequently)
  • Ability to learn and think quickly
  • Energetic, outgoing, and positive attitude
  • Good organization skills
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Ability to prioritize and mange time
  • Regularly required to talk and listen; sit; stand; walk
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED (required)
Prior experience in an accounting department (highly preferred but not required)
